Sonos’ committedness to merchandise its AI-upgraded dependable assistant is nearing its “Fall 2026” deadline, and earlier fans tin usage the highly anticipated update, the institution continues to marque tiny improvements to its app and subordinate features.

This time, Sonos added System Health, a caller in-app leafage to entree a much broad presumption of your system(s), though it’s lone disposable connected iOS for now. However, a caller blog post states that iOS and Android users tin expect measurement presets, much enactment with the app miniplayer, and spoken dependable prompts for the Ace Ultra headphones.

More Sonos speakers, much problems

If your strategy consists of aggregate speakers, a premix of modern and bequest speakers, oregon aggregate systems, you’re bound to acquisition a hiccup and beryllium unsure which talker is causing the issue.

It usually takes maine immoderate clip to Google my contented and scroll done the Sonos Community forum, Reddit, oregon the authoritative Sonos assistance documents to find suggestions and troubleshoot it. Sonos’ caller System Health diagnostic provides an overview of your systems, showing your web presumption and name, arsenic good arsenic the fig of speakers and rooms successful each system.

According to Sonos’ blog post, System Health tin observe a Double Network Address issue, which usually occurs erstwhile you present a caller router to your location oregon plug a mesh strategy into your ISP-provided router. The effect is 2 location networks, and your Sonos speakers volition divided their transportation betwixt them, flagging “System not found” errors, missing speakers, oregon transportation dropouts.

System Health is successful the Settings tab, nether the Help Center menu.

Once you pat into your system, you tin spot each of its speakers, with unconnected speakers bearing a reddish “Not connected” badge, and wireless speakers showing a achromatic “Powered off” badge erstwhile they’re off.

Then, you tin spot a speaker’s transportation information, including status, Wi-Fi awesome strength, signal/noise ratio, frequency, IP address, and more. You tin besides find its measurement output, Trueplay setup status, line-in connection, dependable power status, serial number, hardware exemplary and version, and which Sonos level it operates on.

System Health tin besides amusement you your relationship details, Sonos ID, Controller ID, and your existent app physique version. System Health comes aft Sonos updated the System Updates tab, which present displays an overview of your app, system, and headphone update status. This leafage besides links to the Sonos merchandise notes.

Sonos’ blog station states that this diagnostic is caller and inactive unfastened to change, particularly if the Sonos assemblage has a peculiarly overwhelming effect to it. The blog station besides disclaims that this diagnostic is simply a archetypal look, not a heavy dive.

However, aft a little archetypal use, I spot it arsenic a large mode to rapidly entree each the details you request astir your systems and speakers, particularly if you’re doing immoderate rewiring, moving a talker to a caller room, oregon wide troubleshooting.

System Health is rolling retired to iOS users first. I updated my Sonos app successful the App Store and was capable to entree it, but Sonos’ blog station states that this update is simply a phased rollout.

Sonos UI improvements are ever welcome

Updates to the Sonos app and its subordinate are a agelong clip coming. After receiving respective caller ways to power your speakers’ measurement (I deliberation we’re up to three), Sonos is realizing that granular measurement power is simply a precocious precedence for galore Sonos users, including me.

The in-app measurement dial is cool, and the interactive measurement scrubber is simply a bully touch, but there’s thing much jarring than wanting to play immoderate tunes connected my room antagonistic speaker, lone for it to blast astatine 80% from erstwhile my hubby was watching shot the nighttime before.

Sonos’ latest large update to measurement this clip astir is Presets, a mode to commencement playback successful a circumstantial country astatine a acceptable volume. I haven’t recovered this diagnostic successful my app’s update yet, but I deliberation it’s due to the fact that my hardware needs an update. Presets volition beryllium disposable connected iOS and Android.

Review: Sonos Ace Ultra

Fortunately, I did usage different update to the Sonos miniplayer: swipe to skip. What a teeny, tiny but utile feature. It works conscionable similar the miniplayer successful Apple Music and Spotify; erstwhile the app is open, you tin swipe near to skip to the adjacent song.

One large caveat: swiping close to replay a way doesn’t enactment — astatine slightest not yet. Swiping some ways seems similar a fixed to me, truthful it feels unusual that you can’t. Still, being capable to swipe the miniplayer to the adjacent way is amended than ever having the main subordinate unfastened to toggle tracks. This diagnostic is besides coming to iOS and Android.

Sonos’ miniplayer is getting truthful overmuch better; you tin swipe to the adjacent way and easy power measurement from it, adjacent erstwhile you person the Ace oregon Ace Ultra connected (I tried). The in-app measurement dial besides works with Sonos headphones.

Speaking of the Ace Ultra, a firmware update is available. A caller Vocal Guidance diagnostic tin denote the artillery percent erstwhile you powerfulness connected the headphones, erstwhile the audio mode changes from ANC to Transparency, and which instrumentality your headphones are connected to via Bluetooth.

It feels similar this update is the last agelong earlier Sonos 27voice arrives, arsenic the release notes suggest. It appears Sonos is laying the groundwork for speakers to enactment the AI-powered dependable adjunct successful Early Access. Once it’s here, I’ll trial it arsenic soon arsenic I can.
