WASHINGTON – U.S. Rep. Carlos Gimenez sent a missive to his House colleagues launching his bid to seat the House Homeland Security Committee, Politico reported connected Wednesday afternoon.

Gimenez sent a missive to his colleagues dated Tuesday that listed his agelong vocation successful nationalist service, which includes serving arsenic mayor, sheriff, and commissioner successful Miami-Dade County; and arsenic firefighter, occurrence chief, and metropolis manager successful the metropolis of Miami.

“These roles were not theoretical, they were boots-on-the-ground, real-world experiences,” Gimenez wrote, according to the letter obtained by Politico.

Rep. Mark Green, R-Tenn., the existent committee’s chair, announced his resignation past month.
